SODAP
COMPANY PROFILE
In 1947, a team of forward looking Vine Growers decided to organize their grapes production, relieving themselves from the insecurities of the troubled times on the Island, and created the great wine Co-operative, SODAP, that united 10,000 families, from 144 vine growing villages.
From the beginning
SODAP was supported by the whole Vine Growing Community, as it has played the role of the Stabilizing factor in the Wine Sector.
SODAP owns and operates two wineries, one in Limassol and the other in Paphos, the two main vine producing areas of Cyprus.
Although the main bottling and administration remains in the Limassol Winery, since 2004 all the winemaking has been moved to the new winery, KAMANTERENA, built in the heart of the best vineyards of the Paphos mountains between the villages of Stroumbi and Polemi.
This is one of the most complete and modern wineries in the world. Equipped with machinery of the latest technology, it produces excellent quality Table wines, as well as Regional Wines, of the Paphos Region. Since its beginning (1997), the project of the Island Vines / Mountain Vines has established
SODAP 's name of quality in international competitions, such as the International Wine Challenge Competition, held in
London , winning metals and seals of approval, consistently year after year.
Quality is always recognized, and when we decided to build KAMANTERENA we promised our customers a significant upgrade in our quality.
Well, the promise has already become a reality.
Only in the last year SODAP has won 21 Medals and Awards in both Local and International Competitions such as, the Decanter Wine Awards (Best in Class), th International Wine & Spirits Competition and the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers Association of America (Best of Show).
Since 2005, both wineries are certified with the Quality Systems of ISO 9001 as well as the Food Safety Management System, HACCP and the BRC (British Retail Consortium) Technical Standard Certificate, making
SODAP the first Winery in to hold these Quality Seals in Cyprus .
